Help us fund our

Veterans Food Security Initiative!

This year we are excited to be rolling out our Veterans Food Security Program, to provide North Andover’s low-income veterans with assistance accessing the quality goods available at our market. We are proud to be launching this program in coordination with our parent organization, the North Andover Merchants Association; and in conjunction with North Andover Veterans Services. Much of this funding is due to the generosity of the North Andover Merchants Association and our local businesses.

How does the program work?

The North Andover Farmers Market will be giving our local Veterans Services office vouchers that can be used at our Market. In turn, Veterans Services will distribute these vouchers to low-income veterans using their own eligibility guidelines. When the veterans come to shop at the Farmers Market, they can purchase items from any of our vendors using the vouchers. Vendors will collect the vouchers and, at the end of each market day, will present their accumulated vouchers to a volunteer from the Farmers Market, who will reimburse them with cash. The vouchers will then be given back to Veterans Services to reuse again.  We anticipate the cost of running this program to be approximately $7,000 in 2019. This cost represents the total value of all of the vouchers that will be distributed to veterans throughout the season.
